Afrika Burn

You Are The Only One beamed across the desert again this year for Afrika Burn, engulfing in its light a global community of creators, seekers and philosophers. The phrase spoke to everyone in their shared journey as beings on earth: you are indeed the only one. It continuously encourages a celebration of the self and the other, realizing that the things that make us the most ourselves also connect us the most deeply to others. Love pervaded everyone who danced in front of a stage designed by Olivia out of salvaged wood and mirror, a continuation of the neon that glowed behind it. Throughout the year, between festivities, the neon art and its corresponding stage are installed in the new Langa Music School developed by the NPO Bridges for Music in a Cape townian township to as part of their tireless efforts and successes to bring opportunities and growth to disadvantaged global communities through electronic music.
