SHe bends

Olivia was invited to join She Bends, the largest and most inclusive exhibition of female benders at The Museum of Neon Art in Los Angeles, by fellow neon artist and curator Meryl Pataky. “Everything You Need Is Inside You” and “The Right Amount Of Everything” were on display among a variety of radical, modern, and cutting edge neon artworks. She Bends was so well received that following its run in Los Angeles from September 2017 to February 2018, it was picked up by The Midway in San Francisco and continues to evolve and tour around the US .

She Bends ran for almost a year and maintained its popularity and astonishment. “The material of neon itself is heavy with historical overtones, the act of women repurposing this trade to convey messages about the female experience is in and of itself an act of rebellion – not to mention these women are wildly talented and their neon works are an absolute pleasure for the eyes,” Kelsey Issel, the Arts Director at The Midway Creative Complex, said of the show.

Juxtapose Magazine hailed the show as revolutionary as, indeed, it was. Another moment of neon light guiding humans to new levels of expressing and understanding.
