P.D.A. [PUBLIC DISPLAY OF AWARENESS]

Giving new light to the term street art, these subtle Public Displays of Awareness offer a series of connected and thought-provoking messages on industrial traffic signs installed along the roadsides and immersed in the nature surrounding them. Short punctuated truths are used to guide, awaken and shift your perspective.

This global public art project aims to employ typical methods of industrial road signage to signal its viewers in a most unexpected way; signs that lend themselves to a different kind of direction. These conceptual signs use simplistic language to signal universal themes of consciousness with ancient words of wisdom, poignant reminders and powerful mantras that promote positive thought patterns and inspire an inner dialogue. The unassuming “passer-by” is caught off guard with an unexpected moment of reflection. 

The beauty of these installations is that it is for everyone: public art in its purist form. Powerful statements using simple language, relevant to all humans placed on bright signs for all to heed. It is the intent that everyone on their unique journeys will have an opportunity to be touched by an unexpected message, with no coincidence. An initiative of this nature not only cultivates inner awareness but also promotes local awareness and appreciation of art in different forms.
